FAQ

Where are your ring slings, sleep sacks and crib sheets made?

Potter & Pehar baby products are proudly designed and hand sewn in Toronto, Ontario by a fellow female entrepreneur.

Are your ring slings safe?

Yes! Your baby's safety is of utmost importance to us. Potter & Pehar ring slings are made with quality linen and in compliance with Canadian and American safety regulations. Our aluminum rings are weight tested to over 200 pounds.

We are members of the Baby Carrier Industry Alliance (BCIA). The BCIA helps to improve safety standards for baby carriers. Our baby ring slings are compliant with the Canadian Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) and have been laboratory tested  and certified against the the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards for ring slings.

Please read, understand and implement the safety instructions found in the instructional booklet provided with your ring sling. Local baby wearing groups and educators are wonderful resources for additional baby wearing tips.

What is a sleep sack? When should a baby sleep sack be used?

Sleep sacks are wearable blankets made to replace the use of loose blankets while baby has little neck control. Loose blankets can be dangerous if baby's head gets covered when he or she sleeps.

Our bamboo baby sleep sacks can be paired with a long sleeve sleeper in cooler months or a short sleeved sleeper in warmer months. Our breathable baby sleep sacks will help to ensure baby does not overheat while sleeping.

Why linen baby products?

Linen is made from the fibers of the flax plant. The flax plant is highly valued as it requires a lot of attention to cultivate. Linen textiles are beloved globally, and have been for centuries, as they are cool to touch, smooth and soften with repeated use and wash. Linen is extremely breathable, naturally hypoallergenic and has high moisture absorbency. This makes it suitable for warm climates but will also keep your little love warm and secure during cooler months. Coupled with it’s structure and ability to keep its shape, it has wonderful clean lines and draping effect which lends an amazing aesthetic to our baby sling carrier.

How do I wash my linen baby products?

We recommend you hand or machine wash in cold water, lay flat or hang to dry. While it’s not necessary to iron, linen does naturally wrinkle (which we love) and can be ironed smooth.

We recommend placing a sock over the rings of your ring sling while machine washing.
